5 Things You Can Do in Windows 10 That You Couldn’t in Windows 8

If you’re an avid Windows user, you’ve likely heard that there’s finally a new version of Windows, and it’s getting some pretty good reviews online. Windows 10 offers a variety of new features that we’re sure you’ll love, a few of which we’re highlighting in this week’s blog post.

Virtual Desktops

With Windows 10 you can finally utilize the productivity boost seen with virtual desktops. Just like with Mac and Linux machines, you’ll be able to spread all of your apps across multiple screens. Simply press the Windows key + Tab to show all of your open desktops and create new ones as well.

Utilize a Dedicated Tablet Mode

With Windows 10 you can also switch between desktop and tablet mode even if you’re using a mouse and keyboard. Some users may enjoy the more stripped down tablet version of the OS.

Microsoft Edge

Windows 10 also has a new streamlined web browser that is touted as being much less memory intensive than Chrome, Firefox, or previous iterations of Internet Explorer.

Cortana Is Here

Similar to Apple’s Siri and Google’s Now functionality, Microsoft has implemented what they call Cortana into Windows 10.  This functionality allows you to ask various questions to your computer using your voice for various things like weather updates, Internet searches, and even to control some of the basic Windows functionality.
